Acer Chromebase 24 Now Available For Purchase

Earlier this year during CES 2016, Acer took the wraps off the Acer Chromebase 24, an AIO desktop system that runs Google’s Chrome OS. However at that time, Acer did not mention how much the computer would cost or when it would be available, but now it looks like we have a date and price to look forward to.

For those interested in picking up the Chromebase 24, Amazon is now selling the computer where it will be priced started at $453.99. Just in case you might have forgotten about the specs and features of the computer, here’s a quick refresh to jog your memory. As its name implies, the Chromebase 24 will come with a near-24-inch display: 23.8-inches to be exact.

Under the hood, the computer will come with a base Intel Celeron processor, although if users wanted they could always opt to go for Intel Core i5 or i7 processors albeit at a slightly higher cost. There will also be 4GB of RAM and 16GB of storage for the base unit, a trio of USB 3.0 ports, built-in WiFi, and it will also come with Chrome OS.

Ultimately these computers are designed to be affordable. If all you do is browse the web and do work occasionally, you could probably get away with using Chrome OS, but if you wanted a more robust machine that can support video or photo editing, or running software like Autocad, maybe you should look elsewhere.
