Just recently Samsung announced their latest entry-level handset called the Galaxy J2. The phone’s specs did not impress, but its Smart Glow feature was rather interesting. However it turns out that’s not all Samsung has up their sleeves. A tweet by Evan Blass has revealed a potential new handset in the works called the Galaxy J Max.
Now Samsung has launched several Galaxy J handsets in the past, but the J Max is one that is completely new (the recent Galaxy J2 is the successor to last year’s model) and if the rumors are to be believed, it looks like Samsung is planning on blurring the lines further between what one might consider a smartphone and a tablet.
The rumors are claiming that the Galaxy J Max will be a 7-inch smartphone, or if we had to put it another way, a tablet with SIM card support and the ability to place phone calls. Needless to say that a 7-inch smartphone is going to be crazy unwieldy and very un-ergonomic, but we suppose that there are some who might appreciate the larger display.
It is unclear as to what specs we might expect from the device, but given that the Galaxy J lineup hasn’t been too eager to pack high-end specs, we’re not expecting much from the Galaxy J Max either. Take it with a grain of salt, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more information regarding Samsung’s rumored monster handset.
