Xiaomi has officially taken the wraps off the Redmi 3s, the latest handset from the company which as the rumors had predicted, does indeed come with a fingerprint sensor on the back. For users worried that biometric security would be limited to high-end devices, the Redmi 3s could be worth checking out.
In terms of hardware, the Redmi 3s will be retaining the same 5-inch 720p HD display. Under the hood, we will find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 which should be more than capable of getting the job done. We are also looking at a 13MP rear-facing camera with an aperture of f/2.0 and an accompanying LED flash unit.
There will also be a 5MP f/2.2 front-facing camera for all you selfie lovers out there. A decently-sized 4,100mAh battery will keep the lights on, and in terms of RAM, there will be two variants. One will come with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage which will be priced at around $106, and a 3GB RAM and 32GB storage option that will be priced at $136. No word on whether it will be launched stateside, but chances are it won’t.
