Just in case you missed Microsoft’s earlier announcement, the Xbox One S is one of two new consoles that they will be releasing. It won’t be new per se as this is essentially the same Xbox One as its predecessor. The only main difference would be its slimmer design, the internal power brick (no more stubbing toes!), and a redesigned controller that has a textured grip, improved signal performance, and a new thumbstick design.
It will also come with a 2TB option that is priced at $400. If that’s too much for you, the 500GB option is retailing for $300, while the 1TB model will go for $350. It is set for a release in August and according to Amazon’s pre-order page, the date is the 31st of August which means we still have several months to go.
Note that the Xbox One S is not the upgraded Xbox we have been hearing about. The other console announced by Microsoft is Project Scorpio which still has yet to be given an official name, but it will support 4K and VR and is set for a release in the fall of 2017.
