With every expansion for World of Warcraft, Blizzard tries to improve upon the game not only by adding new content and changing the way certain things are done, but also improving on it under the hood, whether it be improving upon its graphics and introducing new textures. That being said, one of the changes Blizzard is making to Legion is by extending the game’s draw distance.
For those unfamiliar with the concept of draw distance, basically this is how much you get to see into the distance of the game. Think of it like you’re looking out a window and you’re trying to look as far as you can. Obviously in video games there are some limitations, but like we said Blizzard is looking to improve on it in Legion.
With Legion, Blizzard is hoping to make the draw distance better so that players can actually look out into the distance and make out the silhouette of buildings. We suppose this doesn’t really affect gameplay but just adds to the experience. Of course draw distance will also largely depend on your hardware.
Gamers with lower-end hardware and who opt for low-end settings probably won’t benefit from this as much. However as Blizzard notes, this is still a work in progress and that they could make some changes ahead of its release, but so far we are liking what we see.
