Uber has expanded its food delivery service to the United Kingdom. UberEats has now gone live in London, it’s going to be available in Central London initially between 11 AM and 11 PM local time. The company has said that more than 150 restaurants have already signed up to deliver meals through UberEats and that the service is going to be expanded to areas beyond Central London in the coming weeks.
Uber has gradually been rolling out its food delivery service to other markets across the globe. It started out in the United States and now it’s available in a handful of countries across the globe. London is the UK’s first city to get UberEats, and the second in Europe after Paris.
UberEats has its own mobile app through which users can check menus of participating restaurants, order meals, and track their orders. All of this can also be done through the UberEats website. Delivery will be free in London for the first month.
The service also makes a promise to users that if their food doesn’t arrive within 30 minutes of placing the order they will get £20 off their next order. First-time users can get £10 off their very first order by using the UberEatsLondon promo code.
UberEats is now available in 18 cities across the globe, and it goes without saying that the company will continue to expand it to more cities where it makes sense to launch a food delivery service.
