Once again it seemed like a silly idea, but with popular streamers getting paid $10,000 a month just to eat in front of the camera, obviously there is a demand there. Now it seems that Twitch wants in on the action as well and as part of Twitch Creative, they have launched a new “Social Eating” category.
As the name implies, this is basically Twitch’s take on muk-bangs, which is actually interesting because prior to the launch of this channel, Twitch had actually stated that such streams were prohibited as part of their rules, but we’re guessing with this launch, they might have relaxed those rules a little.
It will be interesting to see how well-received this new category will be. After all different regions have different interests, like how WhatsApp might be more popular in some countries than others, or how there are some countries where BlackBerry is still thriving, and so on, but what do you guys think? Are these streams you might be interested in checking out?
