EA and Maxis are making a big change to how characters are configured in The Sims 4. Since character creation is an integral part of the experience of this game, the changes will make quite a lot of people happy who felt that the lines drawn were restricting characters to traditional appearances. A free update has been released for The Sims 4 which removes gender boundaries in the game, allowing players to create Sims with any type of voice, physique, or voice that they like.
The image posted above shows the new diverse characters that players will now be able to create in The Sims 4. This is the first time that EA has removed gender boundaries from the popular life simulation franchise.
The studio says that this change has been made to ensure that “players can create characters they can identify with or relate to through powerful tools that give them influence over a Sims’ gender, age, ethnicity, body type and more.”
Characters in the game are no longer restricted to a selection of hairstyles, clothes, and other options tailored primarily for male and female genders. Sims can now have a different physique, voice or attire regardless of their gender. Players will also be able to change the character’s gender whenever they want, aside from nominating the Sims that are capable of reproducing.
