These days we are hearing all sorts of reports and rumors about the Galaxy Note 6, that’s because it’s the only Samsung flagship left for 2016. Samsung is yet to confirm when the handset is going to be launched, but word on the street is that the launch is going to take place “almost exactly” two months from now, which means the Galaxy Note 6 is likely to be unveiled by early August.
This nugget of information comes from @evleaks, who has proven to be credible on more than one occasion, which is why there’s a slightly better chance of this prediction turning out to be correct.
The last we heard about the Galaxy Note 6 launch was a few weeks ago when it was rumored that the handset is going to be launched in mid-August. At least the rumor mill seems to be in agreement that the launch will take place in August, even it doesn’t agree on the date.
There’s also some disagreement over the name. Since the Galaxy Note 5 was released last year it’s only logical for everybody to believe that this year Samsung will release the Galaxy Note 6. However, some believe that in order to align the moniker with the ultra-premium persona set by the Galaxy S7, Samsung is going to skip a digit and name its next Note handset the Galaxy Note 7 instead.
Other rumors about this handset suggest that perhaps we might see an Edge variant of the flagship as well. It has been a while since the Galaxy Note Edge was released so it would be nice to see how the company intends to reintroduce the curved display to its flagship phablet.
