Just like how gamers might have their pick of gaming keyboards and mice, it makes sense for gamers to also be able to pick their instruments when it comes to games like Rock Band 4. Now if you’re in the market for a new guitar controller, the game’s developer Harmonix has recently taken to YouTube to tease a new controller that will be announced soon.
This controller will be made by PDP instead of Mad Catz who has been making the game’s peripherals to date. No word on when the controller will be released, and given that Harmonix announced an extension of its agreement with Fender Musical Instruments Corporation, we’re guessing that this guitar controller will probably be of the Fender variety.
According to Steve Janiak, Harmonix CEO, “Rock Band is all about living out your rock n’ roll fantasies, on stage, under the lights, in front of a crowd. For decades, Fender’s iconic designs and signature sound have made them the guitar and amp of choice for many of rock’s greatest stars. Naturally Fender has also been the guitar of choice for many of Rock Band’s aspiring rock stars dating back to the series’ introduction in 2007. I’m thrilled that they’ll continue to be a part of Rock Band well into our next decade.”
In the meantime, Rock Band 4 has a new update in the works that will bring about online multiplayer to the game, something to look forward to if you’re looking for a challenge.
