Sony finally confirmed at E3 2016 when it’s going to release PlayStation VR and when pre-orders are going to begin. It’s already expecting the virtual reality headset to be in short supply at launch owing to significant demand, and that assumption just might be true. PlayStation VR pre-orders have gone live in Japan and seeing how many people have lined up outside stores to sign up for one, it appears that Sony has a hit on its hands with the PlayStation VR.

A news report out of Japan reveals that almost five hundred people were lined up outside the Yodobashi Camera in Tokyo’s Akihabara to place a pre-order for the PlayStation VR.

It’s not surprising that the biggest lines formed outside stores in Tokyo but a similar response was seen from PlayStation fans in other cities across Japan, cities like Osaka.

From the looks of it, countless people have already pre-ordered the PlayStation VR and are now anxiously waiting for the headset to arrive. One can expect the company to see a similar response for its headset in other markets as well when pre-orders go live there.

Sony did talk about the PlayStation VR at E3 2016. It revealed some of the games that will be available for this headset and confirmed that it’s going to be released in October this year.
