OnePlus recently unveiled its new flagship handset – the OnePlus 3 – and it can now get down to the business of selling this smartphone. It saw great turn out at the pop-up store in London on launch day and says that demand for this handset in the UK has been above and beyond what it initially expected. OnePlus is having some issues meeting that demand and it has apologized for the delays in shipments.
The company says that there has been a schedule misalignment between devices and accessores in the United Kingdom. It says that plenty of accessories were shipped to the country at the time of launch but orders for both devices and accessories were delayed due to customs issues.
The delays are due to the fact that British customs process phones and accessories separately. So to fix this problem and ensure that devices are in users’ hands as soon as possible, OnePlus has removed and refunded the accessories as well as any priority shipping that customers paid for them.
It’s now dispatching OnePlus 3 handsets directly sans accessories and also issuing customers a £8 voucher which can be used to order accessories, it has waived minimum order requirement for those customers and has also promised free shipping to those affected.
OnePlus also says that it’s dealing with slight supply constraints from its factory which is why the rate of replenishment for the UK has been lower than planned. It says that dispatch estimates have now improved and that more stock will arrive this week.
