oneplus_3_flashOnePlus is expected to make the OnePlus 3 official on the 15th of June. However it seems that prior to the handset’s actual announcement, the company will be holding some kind of flash sale of the handset on the 6th of June where only 1,000 units will be sold on the day itself, meaning that you’ll be buying a phone that has yet to be announced.

The handset will be sold for 2,999 Yuan and according to OnePlus, they promise to refund customers the difference should the actual price by lower than what they paid. Admittedly this is rather odd since OnePlus should know how much they are pricing the phone, especially when it’s only a week away from announcement, right?

However we suppose ultimately this will serve up as a marketing scheme to get people talking and excited for the phone. The handset will actually be delivered on the 15th of June which is when the phone is announced, so we guess technically this could also double up as a pre-order for the phone.

That being said, the price of 2,999 Yuan has us wondering which version of the phone we will be getting. There are rumors that hint at four different variants with differing amounts of RAM and storage, and they will presumably be priced differently as well, so either the 2,999 Yuan model is the base, or the rumors of the variants are wrong. Either way it sounds like this deal might be limited to China, but interested buyers can check it out anyway at the OnePlus website.
