However the good news is that they might have teased it, meaning that the game is indeed in the works but perhaps not due for primetime just yet. As you can see in the screenshot above, this image appeared ahead of Bethesda’s reveal and essentially it is a mock cmd.exe which shows the various titles under Bethesda and ZeniMax’s banner.
These appear to be in order of release, so we have Wolfenstein 3D from 1992, then Wolfenstein: The New Order in 2014, followed by Old Blood in 2015, and a title called New Colossus which does not have a release date. This has led to speculation that New Colossus could be the next Wolfenstein title.
Like we said, Bethesda did not make any announcement regarding the game during their press conference, which has us believing that maybe this tease is just to reassure gamers that the game is in the works, but they have nothing concrete to show us just yet, but we’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for it. In the meantime Bethesda appears to be bringing all the classics back, what with an update to DOOM and the announcement of Quake Champions.
