However it seems that won’t be the only changes that Soy will be making. In an interview with Spanish website Level Up (via GameSpot), the game’s director Cory Barlog confirmed that the upcoming God of War title will not have multiplayer functionality, a feature that was previously introduced in God of War 3.
That being said, the multiplayer mode was not exactly a highly-anticipated feature and some reviewers haven’t been too positive about it either, so we guess we can’t say we’re surprised. Also God of War has typically been singleplayer with a lot of emphasis placed on the action and story, so if anything we reckon multiplayer might actually distract from that.
According to Barlog, he also says that for fans of the God of War franchise and Kratos, this won’t be the last title in the series and that Kratos won’t be going anywhere, despite the fact that his son is in the picture, which we can only imagine might lead some to speculate that eventually his son could take over his role. That might be true some day in the future, but for now Kratos won’t be going anywhere.
