Minecraft Movie Release Date Set For May 24, 2019

As gamers have probably heard by now, there is a Minecraft movie in the works, although a couple of years ago, it was suggested that the movie was still 2-4 years away from actually being released. For those wondering about its release, wonder no more as we finally have an official release date.

The only bad news is that instead of us being 2-4 years away, which was reported in 2014, it seems that we might have to wait a little bit more. According to a post on the Mojang website, it has been revealed that the official release date for the Minecraft movie is set for the 24th of May, 2019. This means that we still have roughly under 3 years of waiting to go.

According to the post written by Vu Bai, “I know you’ve been thinking just about every day, ‘When’s the Minecraft movie coming out?’ Luckily for you, we can finally say! The Minecraft movie will be released on May 24, 2019! The film will also be released in 3D & IMAX. Yes, that might seem like a long time away, but it just so happens to be the right amount of time to make it completely awesome. And we all want an awesome Minecraft movie, right?”

We suppose it makes sense that they want to take their time getting it right. After all video game movies have had a bad rep for being terrible, so we can only hope that the wait will be worth it.
