If you are on multiple projects or just a huge project, being able to track it and keep a record of its progress is vital if you’re hoping to stay on top of things. Now there are a variety of project management apps out there, but if you’re an Office 365 user, you might be interested to learn that Microsoft has announced Planner.
This is the latest app from Microsoft and is a free app for those who are subscribed to Office 365. According to Microsoft, there will be no action required on the user’s front as Planner will appear in the Office 365 app launcher when it is made available to the user, which is expected to begin rolling out today to eligible users, with a full rollout to be completed in the next few weeks.
Microsoft has described the app by saying, “With Planner, teams can create new plans; organize, assign and collaborate on tasks; set due dates; update statuses and share files, while visual dashboards and email notifications keep everyone informed on progress.” The company has also apparently trialed the software with various companies and has reported success with them.
Now like we said, there are various project management apps out there, but since this is free, maybe users might want to consider taking it for a spin before deciding if they’d rather pay for an alternative.
