The Amazon Alexa device can already order its owners pizzas, call users an Uber, read to them, and so on, all of which are no doubt pretty useful and to a certain extent, novel as well. However if you’re looking for more functionality out of Alexa, it seems that Logitech is currently testing out integrating Harmony with Alexa.
Nothing has been confirmed yet, but a report from ZatzNotFunny has revealed that Logitech has started to send out emails to some of its users and are informing them that they are currently beta testing Harmony remote control integration with the Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, and the Tap. With this integration, users will soon be able to use their voice to command Alexa to do things that the Harmony remote can do.
It is unclear as to when this feature will roll out in earnest to all other users, but from what we can tell it looks like it is a closed beta meaning that not everyone will be chosen to participate in it, or can participate in it if they want. Either way we’ll keep an eye out for its functionality and integration, so Logitech Harmony users do check back with us in the near future for more updates!
