When it comes to music creation software, Apple has two options for users: GarageBand and Logic Pro X. Both apps allow users to create music as well as to mix and master them, although Logic Pro X, as the name implies, is aimed more at the professional musicians with tools and features that allow greater control over the process.
That being said you might recall that last month, a GarageBand update saw Apple include Chinese instruments in the software, and now it looks like Logic Pro X has received a similar update that will also include options to use Chinese instruments during the creation process, a pretty handy tool if you don’t have access to the actual instruments.
According to the update, it will add “3 new traditional Chinese instrument Patches for pipa, erhu and percussion,” and “Over 300 new Chinese instrument Apple Loops.” Considering that Apple considers China to be one of its biggest markets, it isn’t surprising that they are starting to cater more towards the Chinese demographic.
In addition to the new instrument options, Apple has also updated the app for improved sound quality for Flex Pitch editing, a new Loudness Meter plug-in, assignable Drum Machine Designer icons, and more. Logic Pro X is priced at a whopping $199.99 so like we said, it’s definitely aimed more at the professional who can justify its asking price.
