Trying to take down a torrent website is like playing an endless game of cat and mouse. A website gets taken down, another pops up, or the torrent website just creates an alternative URL, and basically it really depends on who is faster. That being said for users of KickassTorrents, you will be pleased to learn that soon it won’t really matter.
This is because KickassTorrents has officially joined the dark web, which means that if and when your ISP decides to block one of KAT’s URLs, you will still be able to access it via the Tor network, an encrypted network that isn’t quite as easy to block compared to regular websites, which hopefully means uninterrupted access for a long time in the future.
This was announced by a certain “Mr. White” of KAT who posted the address to the website’s dark web presence (which we won’t link, but you’ll be able to find it via TorrentFreak). Now it should be noted that if you do want to access the dark web or KAT’s home on the dark web, you will need to be connected to the Tor network through a special Tor browser.
KAT is definitely not the first torrent website to launch on the dark web. The Pirate Bay has actually had a presence there for several years now, which means that ISPs and copyright holders now have a harder job at trying to crack down on these websites.
