Additional Fujifilm Instax Share SP-2 Details Revealed [Rumor]

A couple of weeks ago, we reported that Fujifilm could be getting ready to launch a newer model of its Instax Share SP-1 printer in the form of the SP-2. Given that it has been a while since the printer has been updated, we guess it does make sense for a newer model to be released, and now Fuji Rumors has the details.

According to one of their sources, they have revealed to the publication that the upcoming Instax Share SP-2 printer will no longer use regular batteries. This was similar to the previous rumor and has since been corroborated. Instead it is expected to pack a NP45 rechargeable battery that should cut down on the hassle of having to buy new batteries all the time.

Their source has also confirmed that we will be looking at higher resolution printouts between 300-320dpi. As it stands, the current model has a printout resolution of 254dpi. It will also be able to print a lot faster than its predecessor with a printout time of 10 seconds. The rumors are also claiming it will be thinner than the current model which is admittedly a tad bulky.

It will come in a variety of different colors like silver and gold. No word on the film required but presumably it will continue to use the same film used in the Instax Share SP-1. No word on when the SP-2 will be unveiled, but presumably it could be launched alongside the Fujifilm X-T2, which last we heard was due for a launch in July.
