However it seems that could soon change according to a report from MacDailyNews (via MacRumors). The report claims that Apple is working on bringing iMessage to Android and that they could actually announce the app at WWDC 2016. Apple doesn’t really have that many apps for Android saved for a tool that lets Android users port content from their Android phone to an iPhone, and the Apple Music app.
It will be interesting to see if this rumor pans out, although we have to wonder if there will be any advantage to this. In its current form, iMessage is pretty basic in terms of features compared to other messengers that allow video/voice calls, stickers, GIFs, mini games, and more, so unless Apple ups their game, we don’t see why anyone would want to download iMessage for Android.
Of course this is just a rumor so take it with a grain of salt, but any Android users out there who wouldn’t mind seeing an iMessage app for Android?
