However it looks like HTC has managed to get their production and supply chain under control because according to the company, they are now promising that HTC Vive orders will ship out within 72 hours of it being ordered, meaning that you no longer have to be placed on a waiting list in order to purchase the headset.
HTC aren’t alone in their production woes. The folks at Oculus also had a pretty rocky start in which some orders placed in April had actually been pushed to May. Like we said, it is new technology which means that assembling and manufacturing the components could take longer, plus it seems that there is a huge demand for these headsets, perhaps more than the companies had anticipated.
In any case we reckon it will probably be a while before things normalize, so until then we guess customers will just have to remain patient, but HTC’s latest announcement is a good sign and rather reassuring.
