Now it seems that Google is testing out a way for users to test their internet speeds from the search results itself. As discovered by Dr. Pete Meyers, it seems that searching for “check internet speed” will be able to run the test, although he notes that the feature isn’t live at the moment as we have tried checking for it ourselves.
It is likely that Google is still testing out this feature which is why it isn’t live for all users yet, but assuming this is true, it looks like users looking to test their internet speeds will now have a more efficient way of doing so, unless you’ve already bookmarked speed testing websites. At the very least we guess users will have one more alternative tool to ensure the figures are more or less on the same page.
In any case we’ll keep an eye out for it and for when it goes live, but what do you guys think of this latest addition? Useful? Or are you already happy with current options like Fast.com and Speedtest.net?
