There have been rumors over the past year or so that God of War 4 is in development. Recent leaks have suggested that the game is going to have a Norse setting, which would see Kratos moving north to murder some Norse Gods. Some art was leaked earlier this year which gave us a glimpse at the new and improved Kratos who sports Viking furs with an axe in hand. It’s now believed that the God of War 4 announcement will finally be made at E3 2016 next week.
Shinobi602, an industry insider who has previously reported accurately on unannounced games, has claimed that God of War 4 is finally going to be announced at E3 2016. He has also said that The Last of Us 2 won’t be announced at this year’s gaming convention.
He said that there is going to be a “big coming out party for God of War 4” at E3 2016, aside from mentioning that series protagonist Kratos is “most likely” in the game, even if he’s not the lead character in GoW 4. Shinobi has also said that it’s possible that the upcoming title may not be called God of War 4.
About The Last of Us 2, he says that Naughty Dog is prototyping the game but an unveil at E3 2016 doesn’t seem likely. Shinobi made his comments about both games on the latest episode of Video Game Sophistry.
We’ll know for sure if God of War 4 is on the agenda at Sony’s press briefing which starts tomorrow, June 13th.
