A report from last week suggested that come this Monday, the 27th of July, the Fujifilm Instax SP-2 printer will be announced. We have been hearing rumors about the printer for a while now and now thanks to the folks at Fuji Rumors, it seems that an image of the upcoming device has been leaked.
As you can see in the photo above, it depicts the alleged Instax SP-2 printer. It looks quite different from its predecessor, the Instax SP-1 in the sense that it seems “sharper” around the edges. The indicator lights have also been moved to the top where it will show users how many prints they have left and how much battery is left as well.
However other than that, there aren’t that many obvious physical changes. Fujifilm also appears to be confirmed the existence of the printer in an update to their Instax SHARE app where it mentions that it was updated to support the printer, so we guess it’s just a matter of it being officially announced.
So far what we have heard about the printer is that it will sport a rechargeable battery and will also be able to print faster. It will also be able to print photos at higher resolutions meaning that they will be sharper than before, although admittedly given its print-out sizes, it feels more like for scrapbooking purposes rather than for photos meant to be hung on the wall.
