Do you ever wish to see more posts from your friends and family in your News Feed as opposed to a barrage of posts from the various Pages that you’ve liked on Facebook? The world’s largest social network has received similar concerns from other users so it has decided to tweak News Feed once again, Newsfeed is now going to show more posts from your friends and family as opposed to posts from publishers.
Facebook says that the driving principle of News Feed is keeping users connected to their friends and family. It updated News Feed recently to ensure that stories posted directly by friends users care about, such as videos, photos, status updates and links, show higher up in the News Feed and now it’s taking it a step further.
“If it’s from your friends, it’s in your feed, period — you just have to scroll down,” says Facebook, confirming that over the coming weeks it’s going to update News Feed so that things posted by the friends and family members you care about show up higher as opposed to posts from Pages.
Page owners will understandably be concerned following this update. Facebook does caution them that this update may cause reach and referral traffic to decline for some Pages, but says that the specific impact on a Page’s distribution will very by composition of its audience and some other metrics.
