Earlier Nintendo had announced The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. We’ve known for a while that a new Zelda game is in the works, and it looks like more details and a trailer was released during E3. Now the thing is, the game will be released on the Wii U and the upcoming Nintendo NX.
Not much is known about the NX right now in terms of its hardware capabilities and its features, but it seems that regardless of what the NX can do, Nintendo has reassured gamers that the experience will be the same across the board. This means that if the rumors about the Nintendo NX supporting VR tech are true, it wouldn’t matter, although admittedly it would be a bit of a “waste”.
Note that Nintendo’s decision to create a similar experience across the board is more or less the same strategy that Microsoft and Sony are adopting for their upgraded consoles. Nintendo has been oddly mum about the details about the NX. Last we heard, the company was worried about rivals stealing their idea and bringing it to the market before them.
The only thing that we do know is that Nintendo will be releasing the console come March 2017, so hopefully we will be treated to additional details before then. In the meantime, Breath of the Wild has also been set for a release next year in time of the NX’s launch.
