This was confirmed during Bethesda’s E3 livestream on YouTube in which the studio’s director Todd Howard confirmed that the game is in the works. According to Howard, “[Elder Scrolls 6 is] kind of like the elephant in the room, always, when we talk about anything, and you know, I think it’s good in these moments to tell our fans yes, of course we are [working on it] – it’s something we love – but it is… you know, I have to be careful what I say, it’s a very long way off.”
He also noted that Bethesda has two other major projects in the works ahead of The Elder Scrolls 6, meaning that assuming we get one major release a year, it could be at the very least 2 years before we see the game, if not longer. ”So it is something that’s going to take a lot of time, what he have in mind for that game, and we actually have two other large projects we’re also doing that are bigger than everything we’ve done.”
We suppose gamers can take some solace in that, but in the meantime if you can’t get enough of The Elder Scrolls’ universe, the remastered version of Skyrim was also announced at E3 which is set for a release this October with stunning new and upgraded graphics.
