With virtual reality continuing its momentum, it isn’t surprising that this year’s E3 saw a lot of titles created with VR in mind, like Fallout 4 for example. Now the good news is that if you’re after more VR titles, Sony has officially announced Batman: Arkham VR which will allow gamers to stand in the shoes of the caped crusader.
Now Batman games have always allowed gamers to play as Batman, but with this designed for the PlayStation VR, we reckon this experience will be nothing like you’ve experienced before. The game is developed by Rocksteady Studios (the same developers behind Batman: Arkham Knight, which hopefully they will get it right this time).
According to the post on Sony’s PlayStation blog, “Batman: Arkham VR is a new Batman story set in the Arkham universe and exclusive to PlayStation VR. From the early days of development on Batman: Arkham Asylum, our primary objective has been to create games that make players genuinely feel like they are the Batman.”
The game will also allow gamers to explore areas in the Batman universe that we’re sure many are curious about, at least from a VR perspective. Gamers will be able to explore the likes of Wayne Manor and the Batcave. However it will also be a different kind of game where we get to experience Batman as a detective and use his detective skills to complete objectives in the game, and less about punching our way through. Batman: Arkham VR is set for a release this October, and in the meantime gamers can check out the trailer above.
