For those unfamiliar, how it works is pretty simple and straightforward. Users tap their phone at the ATM and they will be prompted to enter their PIN. Once that’s done, the process is pretty easy and no different from using a card. The only difference is that instead of inserting a card, you use your phone to identify yourself.
It should also be noted that this will only work with Bank of America cards. This means that if you’re with a different bank and you are trying to use Apple Pay, it seems that you will be able to proceed right before the point the machine dispenses the cash, in which users will be greeted with an error message.
Perhaps support for other banks will come in the future, but for now only Bank of America cards will work. It also seems that not all machines have been updated with the support yet, so don’t be surprised if your local Bank of America branch’s ATM won’t accept your Apple Pay, but we reckon it won’t be long until it does.
