Folks in Boston can now order fresh produce from Amazon without having to leave the couch. The company today announced that its grocery delivery service Amazon Fresh is now live in Boston. Amazon has gradually been expanding this service to more cities across the country. It’s also expanding overseas, earlier this month Amazon Fresh was launched in London. Amazon Fresh will initially be available in select neighborhoods in Boston, Massachusetts.
Areas supported by Amazon Fresh in Boston include Charlestown, Beacon Hill, Back Bay, Jamaica Plain, Brighton, Allston, and more. The service can be used for ordering groceries, fresh produce, prepared meals, health and beauty products, baby products, pet supplies, and more.
More than 95,000 products are available at launch which can be delivered on the same day with Amazon Fresh if the order is placed before 10 AM. Orders placed after the cut-off time are delivered the next day. Customers can select from attended or unattended two-hour delivery windows.
Customers in Boston can also use the service to buy products from local shops like Chestnut Farm, Savenor’s Market, Red’s Best, and others. To use this service, customers need a Prime Fresh subscription, which bundles all of the benefits of a $99 Amazon Prime subscription with access to the grocery delivery service for $299 per year.
