In fact according to reports, it looks like Acer has recently admitted that their systems were hacked and that 34,000 customer credit card information was stolen as a result of that. The hack saw the hackers steal the “name, address, card number, expiration date and three-digit security codes” belonging to credit cards of their customers.
This means that if you have shopped at Acer’s website between May 12, 2015 to April 28, 2016, there is a chance that your credit card information could be among the list that was stolen. That being said, compared to the hacks we’ve seen from the likes of Target and Home Depot where millions of customers were affected, this seems relatively small, but still important and worth paying attention to all the same.
In the meantime now that this has been brought to light, perhaps you should pay some attention to your credit card statements and make sure that there are no fraudulent charges.
