Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Sold 600k Units In 60 Days

Xiaomi of China has certainly come a long way since its early days, and the kinds of smartphones in which it has introduced to the different markets worldwide have been impressive to say the least. This time around, the China-based company has announced that it managed to sell a total of 600,000 Redmi Note 3 units over in the world’s largest democracy, India, and doing so within a period of 60 days. This figure might not be too impressive at all as it does not even hit a million in a country that has over a billion people, but do bear in mind that it is rather difficult for foreign smartphone manufacturers to make their mark in the Indian market.

This proud announcement was seen in a Facebook post from the Chinese company’s VP Hugo Barra, and the 600,000 figure has been described as their “biggest record yet.” For a little bit of context, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 was launched over in India earlier this March, where it came with price tag of INR 9,999 ($148) for the 16GB model, while those who wanted double the amount of internal memory would have to fork out INR 11,999 ($178).

It then went on on open sale in the country not too long ago, taking only a couple of minutes to run out of stock.
