Earlier this year we reported on a mechanical keyboard called the Wooting One. Mechanical keyboards are a dime a dozen but what makes the Wooting One so special is that it is an analog mechanical keyboard, and will come with features that will separate itself from the other keyboards out there. The good news is that it is now on Kickstarter seeking funding.
The original goal was to raise €30,000 goal, but at this time of writing, the keyboard has managed to raise €42,249, and with 29 days to go, we reckon that they should have no problems raising even more money. There is still time to pledge your support and it will cost €139 as the cheaper early bird specials appear to have been snapped up.
So for those unfamiliar with the Wooting One, what makes it so special? It is special because it is an analog keyboard. This means that while regular keyboards might register a keypress as either it happened or it didn’t, the Wooting will be able to measure how hard/deep you have pressed, which in turn will allow for more subtle commands when used in video games.
Users will be able to switch back and forth between either mode depending on preference. The keyboard will also feature RGB backlighting for those who do like their backlights. The keyboards will not use the more traditional Cherry MX series of switches. Instead it will rely on Flaretech’s brand of switches. To learn more or pledge your support, watch the video above or head on over to its Kickstarter page.
