In fact according to the latest numbers offered up by Net Market Share, it seems that Windows 10 now accounts for 14.35% of the desktop OS market. No, we’re not talking about Windows desktops, but all desktop operating systems meaning other platforms like OS X and Linux are also taken into account.
According to the figures, Windows 7 is still leading the way at 48.79%, although this is down from the previous figures which was at 51.89%. Windows 10 appears to come in second at 14.35%, followed by Windows XP at 9.66%. Windows 8.1 is close at 9.16%, followed by Apple’s OS X platform at 3.96%, Windows 8 at 2.95%, and last but not least Linux at 1.56%.
In addition to Windows 10 doing well, it has also been reported that the Edge browser now accounts for 3.85% of the browser market, which might seem like a drop in the ocean but it’s still a pretty good start all the same.
