Uncharted 4 was one of the most highly anticipated games of 2016. The game was launched some two weeks ago and today we have the official numbers on its first week performance, which is nothing short of impressive. Naughty Dog’s latest creation and the most recent addition to the Uncharted franchise has been received very positively and the figures show that gamers flocked to purchase the title in big numbers.
It has been confirmed today that in the first week after its launch, Uncharted 4 sold more than 2.7 million copies across the globe. It has been pointed out that for the North American region this title is now the fastest-selling PlayStation 4 first party game to-date.
Senior Director, First Party Games, SIEA Asad Qizilbash mentions in the blog post that the 2.7 million units figure includes worldwide sell-through data for both physical discs as well as digital downloads as of May 16th, 2016. Basically, what this means is that they’re not counting the units shipped in this figure, only those that have actually been sold.
This is why the 2.7 million unit figure is impressive. It shows that Naughty Dog has done a great job of making this title and making longtime fans, as well as newcomers to the franchise, want to spend their money on Uncharted 4.
