twitch clipsTwitch streams are great if you enjoy watching people play through video games, but since these tend to be livestreams, it means that the broadcasters can’t be as prepared as someone who has pre-recorded a video, which also means that there are probably a lot of instances where the stream isn’t as exciting as it could be.

However we guess you could argue that is one of the charms of Twitch and livestreams, but either way the good news is that if you’ve always wanted to share the exciting moments with your friends, Twitch has announced a way for you to do that in the form of Clips. At a press of a button, you will be able to share 30 second clips of the stream via your social media channels.

How this works is that the feature reminds us a bit of Apple’s Live Photos in which the previous 25 seconds of the video will be captured, and an additional 5 seconds of the video after you have pressed the button. So for example if during a stream, the broadcaster finds an Easter Egg, instead of having your friends sit through the entire stream, you can now share that portion of the stream with them.

The feature is currently being rolled out as we speak, but if you don’t see it yet don’t worry as Twitch states that they expect it to be available for all users in the coming weeks. In the meantime details of how to use the feature can be found here.
