A microphone and a pair of headphones could be enough to double up as tools gamers need when playing games, but for more hardcore gamers, dedicated gaming headsets are a necessity, kind of like gaming mice and keyboards. That being said if a gaming headset is what you’re after, the folks at Turtle Beach have announced the Elite Pro headset.
Now we know you’re probably wondering what is it about this headset that makes it so special. After all from the photos it looks like a regular pair of headphones with a microphone attached to it, right? However for gamers who play for long hours, this is where the headphones will shine thanks to the use of Aerofit Ear Cushions that comes with cooling gel infused into it.
What this means is that if you use it for long periods of time, your ears won’t get hot thanks to the cooling gel. Turtle Beach has also taken into consideration gamers who wear glasses as the foam cushions come with a small groove to accommodate that, a design that we’re sure many glasses-wearers will be able to appreciate.
Obviously sound quality is also important as Turtle Beach has also launched the Elite Pro Tactical Audio Controller. This brings DTS Headphone:X 7.1 Surround Sound and Superhuman Hearing to the headphones. Of course all of this won’t come cheap as the headphones themselves are priced at $300, while the TAC will be sold separately for an additional $200. Pre-orders are expected to begin 24th of May.
