In this day and age, parents worry about their underage children and their internet use. It’s no secret that young adults are routinely subject to harassment and bullying online, things that have led some of them to harm themselves while some teens fail to comprehend the repercussions of their actions online. According to a report out of Milwaukee, three teens skipped class to live stream themselves having sex on Facebook.
According to the report, all of the teens were underage, two girls aged 14 and 15 as well as one boy aged 15 years. All of them were students at the Barack Obama School. They reportedly skipped class so that they could live stream themselves having sex on Facebook.
The Milwaukee Police have started an investigation into the matter and they have asked Facebook to provide information about the live stream as well as information about one participant in particular. The police want all of the information that Facebook has on the 14-year-old girl, including but not limited to status history, pictures and videos, name, email, IP address and more.
The teens will have used the Facebook Live feature to conduct the live stream, it enables all users to broadcast live on the social network, but there are a set of Community Standards that users have to adhere to when using Facebook Live. Facebook doesn’t comment on specific cases, as it said when approached for a comment on this matter, but does point towards its Community Standards which prohibit the streaming of lewd acts.
