Apple may have introduced Siri with the iPhone but it gradually brought the virtual personal assistant to other devices. Now, Siri is available on the iPad, the Apple TV, and even the Apple Watch but it’s still missing from one major product lineup: the Mac. Previous reports suggest that the next major OS X upgrade is going to bring Siri to Apple’s notebooks and desktops, and today the purported dock icon of Siri for Mac has been leaked online.
Macrumors claims to have received this rather colorful waveform Siri for Mac dock icon from a source that has provided the scribe with reliable information about Apple’s software in the past. It’s already believed that Apple will bring Siri to the Mac with OS X 10.12.
The dock icon is quite colorful has a waveform which will easily let users know at a glance that Siri is running. Clicking on this icon will bring up the personal virtual assistant and will give users the cue that the assistant is listening to them. It’s unclear if this is the final dock icon for Siri.
It’s also reported that the hands-free “Hey Siri” command will be supported on OS X as well so that users can engage with Siri without having to click on anything, however, the Hey Siri option might be disabled by default.
Apple has not yet confirmed its intention of bringing Siri to Mac with the next major upgrade for OS X. We’ll have to wait until WWDC 2016 to find out for sure, the company’s annual developers conference takes place starting June 17th this year.
