Are you worried that the internal memory of your smartphone is just not enough to store all of the things that you absolutely need? Worry no more as Samsung today announced the launch of its EVO Plus 256GB microSD card. The new card offers the highest capacity for a microSD card in its class while promising fast speeds. The card has been designed for use with smartphones, tablets, 360-degree video recorders, drones, and action cameras.
256GB is a considerable amount of storage, that’s actually more than what I have in my base 13 inch MacBook Air, so it can easily hold up to 12 hours of 4K UHD video or 33 hours of Full HD video without needing a replacement.
The card delivers great performance thanks to Samsung’s advanced V-NAND technology that provides read and write speeds of up to 95MB/s and 90MB/s, respectively.
This level of performance will appeal to both professionals as well as general consumers who want to store high-resolution photography and 4K videos, aside from other graphic-intensive media like games and virtual reality experiences.
Samsung is going to offer the EVO Plus 256GB microSD card with a limited 10-year warranty in more than 50 countries, including the United States, for $249.99 starting this June.
