However we understand that there are gamers who prefer physical copies for collection purposes, and for those of you who pre-ordered Blizzard’s Overwatch, you will be pleased to learn that the game will be shipped out a day earlier than expected. The game was originally pegged to be shipped on 24th of May, which is when the game is released, but it will now be shipped on the 23rd.
This is according to reports from users who claim to have received emails from retailers such as Best Buy and Amazon who informed them of the change in dates. If you think it is a mistake, it isn’t as Blizzard has confirmed to GameSpot that the change in dates are for real. “We would like for all of the players to be ready to dive straight into the action when the servers go live, so retailers are going to begin selling the game when their stores open on May 23rd.”
Note that receiving the game early doesn’t mean you get to play early. Basically instead of spending the better half of the 24th of May waiting around for delivery, you will be able to install the game on the 23rd of May and come the next day, you will be good to go.
