Periscope Testing Allowing Users To Save Their Broadcasts

Unlike YouTube where you can always revisit old videos, the whole point of Periscope to stream live videos on the spot, meaning that if you miss it then that’s just too bad. This is fine we guess if you did not put much effort in your streams, but if you’re a professional who relies on social media applications like Periscope to make a living, then saving your hard work probably makes sense.

The good news is that Periscope is now testing out a way to allow users to save their broadcasts. All users have to do is add a “#Save” in their title and their broadcasts will be saved. Prior to this, broadcasts were only available for 24 hours before they disappear for good, and if you’re someone who put in a lot of time and effort, this would be kind of wasteful.

That being said, this is a beta feature so it might not necessarily be the same at the end. After all the #Save tag isn’t exactly the most elegant solution, not to mention it is probably easy for some users to forget adding the tag meaning that there could be cases where people end up losing a couple of videos.

However it is still a welcome feature and one that we’re sure many Periscope broadcasters have been asking for, so if you’d like to start saving your broadcasts, you know what you need to do.
