However if you’ve never downloaded an ad blocker onto your Android phone because it might require you to root your device, fret not because Opera is here to save the day. The company has recently released an update for its Opera Mini Android app which will now come with a built-in ad blocker, thus saving you the time and effort from installing one yourself.
According to Lars Boilesen, CEO, Opera, “Opera is the first browser company to offer an native ad blocker across devices. We do this because we want to provide people with the fastest browsers in the market. Our speed test shows that online ads slow down the browsing experience. Now, with Opera, you can browse a lot faster than, for example, in Chrome.”
For those unfamiliar, a couple of months ago Opera launched their desktop browser with a built-in ad blocker and at that time, they said that the mobile version was in the works and it looks like it is finally here. If you’d like to get your hands on it, head on over to Google Play for the download.
