OnePlus hasn’t always made it easy for people to buy its smartphones. For years, it has stuck to a cumbersome invite-only system after its smartphones are released. Many of its customers would certainly want the system to be done away with, and while it looks like OnePlus will finally drop it for future releases, the company will make it easier still to purchase its existing handsets. OnePlus is going to officially start selling its smartphones through Amazon.
You will find listings for OnePlus smartphones on Amazon even now, but those listings are for unlocked variants of its phones which are being sold by third-party sellers, they are likely to charge more than the price OnePlus has set.
OnePlus has confirmed today that customers will be able to purchase the OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X directly from Amazon. Official listing for the OnePlus 2 is already up on Amazon UK and the listing for OnePlus X will be up shortly a well, also for customers in the United Kingdom.
Sales via Amazon are not just limited to the United Kingdom. Listings for both of the aforementioned handsets will soon go live on Amazon U.S. as well, enabling customers to purchase the handsets at the revised prices that the company recently confirmed.
The next OnePlus flagship, the OnePlus 3, is due to arrive next month. The company’s PR machine is already in full swing to raise hype for the company’s next “flagship killer.”
