droid-motox-leak-1One of the new hardware features that Apple introduced with the iPad Pro is the Smart Connector. This allows the device to connect to other accessories that does not rely on the Lightning connector, but last we heard, the iPhone 7 might not be packing the feature. Now as it turns out, Motorola’s upcoming Moto X handsets might.

According to recently leaked photos from HelloMotoHK, a trio of Motorola handsets have been revealed and if you can see in the photos, at the back of the phone, there appears to be several rows of dots that looks like they could be for a dock connector or something similar. We’re not sure what they’re for right now, but we imagine that they’ll be connecting accessories.

The handsets in question are said to be the Moto X (2016) model. From the photos, they certainly seem to be in line with the leaks that we’ve seen previously, such as the square home button that is also rumored to double up as a fingerprint sensor. The different designs on the back also suggests that Motorola will be retaining customizability.

Also the camera cutout seems rather interesting with a “flat tire” design akin to the Moto 360 smartwatch, where both the camera and its LED flash are said to be housed. In any case take it with a grain of salt, but hopefully we’ll have the official details in the coming weeks.
