Agent Peggy Carter is a name you’re probably familiar with if you read Marvel’s comics or if you watched the first Captain America movie. The character was well-received enough to the point where the folks at ABC decided to give it its own show where it ran for two seasons until it got cancelled just the other day.However it seems that the show has a pretty loyal fanbase who has since launched a petition to bring the show back. Interestingly enough the petition isn’t aimed at ABC, but rather at Netflix who has had a pretty good track record when it comes to Marvel-related TV shows so far (Daredevil and Jessica Jones).
According to the comments in the petition, many are asking for Netflix to give the show a second chance as it is one of the few shows that has a strong female lead. Rita Cruz from Portugal says, “I’m signing this petition because Agent Carter is one of the most strong and brave female characters in the TV show world and she now is simply gone which is unfair.”
Emma Tonn of Dubuque, IA also echoes those sentiments in her comments which reads,”Agent Carter is one of only solely female-based shows on the air of the superhero variety. Peggy Carter is such an amzing character, and with lines such as “I know my own worth”, she’s also an exemplary role-model.” Now whether or not Netflix plans on picking up the show remains to be seen, but Hayley Atwell, the actress who plays Agent Carter, has another series that she will be starring in on ABC.
