According to a post on Weibo by Huami’s CEO (the company who is Xiaomi’s manufacturing partner), it seems that due to production issues it looks like the release of the Mi Band 2 will be delayed. Xiaomi’s CEO has also confirmed the delay, claiming that the Mi Band 2 will be launched a month later than anticipated.
Apparently it turns out that Huami isn’t able to produce as many units as Xiaomi wants, at least not in time for its release. Like we said, the original Mi Band proved to be a huge hit thanks to the fact that it costs a fraction of what most wearables out there cost these days. Granted it isn’t as feature-rich compared to some, but it gets the job done.
The Mi Band 2’s features are a bit of a mystery at the moment, but from the photos it looks like the device will be sporting a display, a feature missing from its predecessors that we’re sure would-be customers will be able to appreciate.
