It hasn’t been long since Tesla unveiled the Model 3, its first mass-market all-electric car. Part 1 saw Tesla unveil the car but it’s going to talk more about its capabilities and features in part 2 for the unveil which is set for later this year. In the meantime, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has been clearing up some things via Twitter, and he has confirmed that the significantly cheaper Tesla is going to get the Ludicrous mode.
“At Tesla, we don’t make slow cars,” the CEO said during the Model 3’s unveil, so it makes perfect sense for the company to bring Ludicrous mode to this car. It’s this mode that makes the high-end Model S go from 0 to 60 in merely 2.8 seconds. That’s supercar territory.
There are a lot of people out there who are willing to purchase the $35,000 Model 3. Tesla has already received more than 400,000 orders for the car and more are pouring in every single day even though deliveries aren’t expected before 2017.
Musk was recently asked on Twitter if the Model 3 is going to have the Ludicrous mode as well, to which Musk simply replied: “of course.” This should end all speculation regarding the matter.
It remains to be seen though how long the Model 3 takes to go from 0 to 60 mph with the Ludicrous mode switched on, many believe that it’s going to post a time of under 4 seconds, but Tesla or Musk isn’t talking numbers just yet.
